Practical caregiving education built on compassion, dignity and professional responsibility.

Compassionate caregivers, professionally trained

Kiirua Caregivers Training Institute is a caregiver training institution based in Kiirua, Meru County, Kenya, established with a commitment to developing competent, compassionate and professional caregivers for the growing demand for care services in Kenya and internationally.

The Institute seeks to equip learners with essential knowledge, practical skills and professional values needed to provide safe, dignified and person-centred care to the elderly, persons with disabilities, individuals recovering from illness and others who require assistance with daily living.

Two training pathways

Our training approach is designed to accommodate learners with different educational backgrounds and career aspirations.

Basic Home-Based Care Certificate Course

Three months. Designed for learners seeking foundational caregiving skills, particularly for local home-care opportunities and further learning. Successful learners receive an institute-issued certificate of completion.

TVET Level 4 Caregiver programme

Intended for learners pursuing structured competency-based caregiver training. Its implementation, assessment and certification will follow the applicable TVET requirements and approvals. This programme is undergoing the applicable approval process.

Please note: the three-month Institute Certificate of Completion is issued by the institute and is different from a recognised TVET Level 4 qualification.

No accreditation or approval is claimed on this website until it has been granted. Please ask the institute for the current status of each programme before you enrol.

Our approach

Through practical learning, professional guidance and a focus on compassion, ethics and responsibility, we aim to prepare our graduates for appropriate caregiving opportunities in private homes, home-care services and other relevant care settings.

Partnerships

We are also committed to building partnerships with care providers, legitimate employment agencies and other relevant organisations to help learners access further training, career development and potential employment opportunities locally and internationally.

Training does not guarantee employment, a visa or a work permit. Partner with us.
